East Bengal looks to lift the title

KOLKATA: The juniors of East Bengal would strive to do what their seniors have failed in this season's I-League. The seniors have lost the title, but the city giant's junior team would look to lift the title when it begins its campaign against Mumbai FC (western leg winner) in the final stage of the under-19 league for the I-League sides here on Tuesday.

With last year's champion Sporting Clube de Goa not qualifying this time, East Bengal as last year's runner-up remains the favourite to lift the title.

Churchill Brothers, which qualified as the Goa leg winner, will take on the JCT Mills FC Academy (the northern leg winner) in the other match at the Mohammedan Sporting ground. — Principal Correspondent
