Tributes paid to first Telugu lyricist

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Cultural Council has paid rich tributes to writer and lyricist Chandala Keshavadasu, popularly known as Telangana Keshavadas, the first lyricist of Telugu talkie cinema.

Speaking at the 135 {+t} {+h} birth anniversary of Keshavadas here on Monday, the chairman of the Cultural Council R.V. Ramana Murthy said the first play penned by him ‘Kanakthara' had completed 100 years and it was made into a feature film twice. In all, he had given lyrics to 12 films.
