House burgled

HYDERABAD: Thieves took away gold jewellery weighing 200 gm and Rs 1 lakh from a house at Premnagar in Punjagutta, after sneaking inside through the ventilator of a bathroom of the building on Monday.
The house owner, Narender, along with his family, went out to attend a function. On return, they found the jewellery and cash stolen from the almirah.
Man found murdered
An unidentified man aged about 35 years was found murdered with knife wounds on his body at a secluded place along Alijapur road in Golconda police station area.
The victim was clad in a readymade shirt and a pair of trousers. The killers also hit his head with a boulder, police said.
Dies of self-immolation
A 28-year-old woman, Renuka, died of self-immolation, while her husband, Kanakaiah, 32, suffered burns trying to rescue her in their rented house at Sanjaypurinagar of Jagadgirigutta in Kukatpally, the police said on Monday.
The couple was neck deep in debts, and quarrelled over some family matters around Sunday midnight after which the woman immolated herself, according to the police. Their two children, Nikita, 8, and Ravali, 6, too suffered minor burns in the incident.
