Krishna Babu's directive to officials

HYDERABAD: GHMC Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu directed Deputy Municipal Commissioners to prepare a contingency plan with details of inundation points and places of rehabilitation centres based on past experiences to tackle any emergency during the monsoon.
Reviewing the action plan on monsoon and communicable diseases with all senior officials on Monday, he sought all manholes be covered and also keep a sufficient stock.
Officials should be ready with requisite personnel and equipment to undertake measures to ensure excess rainwater recedes quickly.
With regard to controlling communicable diseases, he wanted IT officials to open a page for reporting epidemic cases with details of the patient and geographical data daily directly into the GHMC website.
Links should be created in consultation with the respective medical officials of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy districts.
De-weeding of water hyacinth in 44 major tanks should also be taken up by either hiring or purchasing vehicles, a press release said.
