RWAs seek more time from power regulator
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Representatives of various residents' welfare associations in the city have asked the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission to extend the date for submission of objections and comments on the true-up petitions filed by the discoms.
In a statement, RWA members said though the late date for filing of objections and comments was June 26, the residents need more time to process their response.
“This is a voluminous document containing almost 300 pages. Moreover the discoms are not filing the documents in an orderly manner because of which it takes considerable time to understand their submissions. In the preliminary observations, a lot of shortcomings have been noticed in the petitions,” said Rajiv Kakria, president of the Greater Kailash-I RWA.
“In the true-up petitions of Delhi Transco Limited it was observed that the annual reports of the corresponding year were also submitted along with the petitions. However, in the case of the discoms, no annual reports of 2008-09 are available. Moreover, the annual audited financial statement was also not signed by the three directors. The statement was signed by only two directors out of all five,” he added.
