Punjab sanctions 62.5 crore for border area development
Chandigarh: The Punjab Government will spend Rs. 62.5 crore for development of border areas in the four districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur and Tarn Taran this year. An approval to this effect was given by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at a high-level meeting held under his chairmanship here, an official spokesperson said on Monday.
Mr. Badal asked all concerned authorities to chalk out a comprehensive plan immediately and submit details within a week to ensure early execution of these development works.
Health, water, power…
Under the scheme, upgradation and maintenance of the infrastructure in areas along the international border would be undertaken. This would cover power, road connectivity, health infrastructure, water supply and sanitation, the spokesperson said. - PTI
