Woman's body found in TV carton in Tirupati

TIRUPATI: In a bizarre incident, police found the body of a 35-year-old woman dumped into a TV carton, lying in a highly putrefied condition.

According to police, the deceased, Sunitha, a divorcee residing in downtown Tambuvanigunta area, was working as servant maid. After divorce, she was said to have been living together with her own father-in-law for the last 18 months. The two were said to have had heated exchanges on Friday on some issue.

Foul smell

It was on Monday that the house owner, Rajamma found foul smell emanating from the portion where Sunitha was living and alerted the police. Police who broke open the house found the body lying stashed into the carton and later sent it for post-mortem. Police suspect that she was smothered to death and are on the lookout for her father-in-law, who is said to be absconding.
