Farmer trampled to death by herd of wild elephants

KRISHNAGIRI: C. Narayanappa, a 65-year old farmer hailing from Hunisenatham village near the Karnataka border was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants in Jawalagiri Forest Range on Sunday evening. He was going to Belekere village via Thalli Reserve Forests.

Relief given

A cheque for Rs.25,000 was given to the victim's wife as immediate relief, said A.K. Ulaganathan, District Forest Officer, here on Monday.
