Submit report in three months, says High Court We've executed 95 recommendations, says BBMP BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to submit an action taken report within three months regarding the progress made in respect of the 95 recommendations by the committee, headed by retired chief engineer Capt. Raja Rao, to suggest measures to improve the condition of city roads. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice H.G. Ramesh passed the order while hearing public interest litigation (PIL) petitions filed during 2004-05 complaining about roads. The court had constituted the committee in 2005. “We don't want general statement as you only file statements… after six months everything turns out be false. You must give details of works done, amount sanctioned and spent, payment details to contractors who executed these works,” the Bench said asking the BBMP to inform what it proposed to do with regard to the remaining recommendations. “It is fine if works are done as stated in the affidavit. Otherwise, we want to fix the responsibility on the officer if false information is given to the court,” the Bench observed as BBMP told the court that it had implemented 95 recommendations of the committee, which gave its report in 2007.
