PALAKKAD: District Collector K.V. Mohan Kumar said in a statement here on Monday that the shutters of the Mangalam dam would be opened as the water level of the reservoir has crossed the danger mark. The water level of the reservoir has crossed 76.51 metres as against the maximum level of 77.28 metres owing to heavy rain in the catchment areas of the dam. People residing on the banks of the Mangalam river have been advised to remain alert.
