Man wanted for murder in UP held by Delhi Police

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man carrying a reward of Rs.5,000 on his head for alleged involvement in a murder case at Sikandrabad in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested in the Walled City of Delhi. The police claim to have seized an illegal firearm from him.
Some police personnel on patrol duty spotted the man moving under suspicious circumstances on Saturday. They allegedly found a country-made pistol in his possession, following which he was arrested under the Arms Act.
Accomplices
During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he along with his father, brother and two accomplices had killed one Salim in Sikandrabad on May 20.
The UP Police had declared a reward of Rs.5,000 on his head. “He was convicted for 10 years rigorous imprisonment in a dacoity case in Bulandshahr,” said a police officer.
However the accused was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court on May 19.
“The accused had also been externed from the district in a case registered in 2008,” he added.
