Human trafficking racket busted

NEW DELHI: A human trafficking racket has been busted with the arrest of Bharti Saini (36) here in the Capital. The police claim to have recovered Rs.3 lakh in cash, Delhi-Singapore air tickets and other documents.
A company called U.K. International running an office in District Centre Janakpuri here had advertised in a Punjab newspaper for recruitment of carpenters, drivers, operators, cooks, masons, plumbers and helpers in Singapore in March/April. Through the advertisement, the company duped around 1,500 people from Punjab by collecting Rs.5,000 as registration fee, Rs.2,250 for medical examination fee and Rs.15,000 for ticket from each candidate.
