Quiz to mark International Year of Chemistry

GULBARGA: The National Council of Science Museums will be conducting a national-level quiz competition in chemistry for high school students to commemorate the International Year of Chemistry and the 150th birth anniversary of Acharya P.C. Ray.

The national quiz competition will be held in three stages — district science centre-level, zonal-level and national-level. According to the district science officer, Rajesh B. Borale, the centre-level quiz competition will be held at the District Science Centre here on June 24.

Mr. Borale said each school could send a team of students to participate in the quiz which would be conducted in English. Interested schools may register the names of the participants with the District Science Centre by June 23.

Beside this, the District Science Centre would also be organising a district-level science quiz contest for high school students of Gulbarga district. Mr. Borale said the schools could send two participants each. Their names should be registered at the District Science Centre by July 12, he said.

The inauguration of the quiz contest would be held on July 13 at the District Science Centre. For details, call 9481774872.
