Six held for abducting a woman

MANGALORE: A 25-year-old woman has accused her husband of rape and abduction on Tuesday.

Commissioner of Police Seemant Kumar Singh said Kiran John Pereira and his wife Philomena were living separately for the last five years. There was a case of divorce pending in the court.

Mr. Singh said Mr. Pereira and five others blocked the car which Ms. Philomena was driving on Monday afternoon. Mr. Singh said the police tracked Mr. Pereira and five others at a place on the outskirts of the city and rescued Ms. Philomena. All the six have been arrested. Mr. Singh said Ms. Philomena had accused Mr. Pereira of rape.
