Thiruvananthapuram: The Trivandrum Residents Apex Council (TRAC) has appealed to the State government to exert pressure on the Centre to secure clearance for priority projects like the proposed container transshipment terminal at Vizhinjam, shipyard at Poovar, breakwater at Veli, and a nanotechnology unit on the Technocity campus. A press note by TRAC sought a compensation package for the families displaced due to the development of the Thiruvananthapuram international airport and the proposed KINFRA apparel park to be set up at Vembayam and Amboori. It urged the government to keep footpaths open for pedestrians. The council also highlighted the need for foot over-bridges or subways at busy junctions.
