Srikakulam
SRIKAKULAM: Telugu Desam Politburo member Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu on Wednesday asked the State government to take stern action against persons involved in illegal sand mining in Srikakulam district. He feared that ground water levels will deplete further all along Vamsadhara and Nagavali rivers with indiscriminate sand mining. He has also sought a new policy to regulate sand mining activity in the district. “Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao is least bothered to control the illegal sand mining though he is representing the district as a minister. Many congress leaders were also involved in sand mafia. ,” Mr.Yerrannaidu alleged.
