Two detained under Goondas Act

Namakkal: District police officials on Tuesday detained two persons under Goondas Act on charges of hindering government servants from performing their duties at Pudukottai village near Erumapatty on June 6.
Illegal mining
District Collector J. Kumaragurubaran who gave the instructions said that the accused C. Manimalan (38) of Bodinayakanpatti Village, his accomplice Rajasekar and few other miscreants attacked a Village Administrative Officer and hindered other revenue officials from seizing the earthmover that was used by the former for illegally mining sand from a Government poramboke land on June 6.
