This Day That Age
The Dickens Fellowship is appealing for world-wide support in its plans to celebrate next year the 150 {+t} {+h} anniversary of the birth of English novelist, Charles Dickens. Members of the Fellowship – which now has 60 branches in eight countries including India – are organising their own festivities on both sides of the Atlantic. The campaign is backed by members in India, Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.S. and the Netherlands. Their aim is to study Dickens, enjoy his writings and to share their enjoyment with others. The members seek the preservation of houses and objects associated with Dickens and the support of charities which he would have backed.
