VISAKHAPATNAM: The Council of Architecture, New Delhi, has identified GITAM University as one of the test centres to conduct National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for B.Arch admissions. NATA is National aptitude test in architecture and 10+2 or Pre-University Course (PUC) students who want to pursue a career in architecture will have to qualify in NATA conducted by COA, for securing an admission in any of the architecture colleges in India. GITAM University established School of Architecture to offer B.Arch course from this academic year. The COA committee visited GITAM, appreciated the infrastructure and granted permission to run the course, which is offered in only ten institutions in Andhra Pradesh. According to Prof. G.V.S. Sai, Director, GITAM School of Architecture, the eligibility criteria to admit in GITAM is a pass in single attempt in 10+2 or equivalent with mathematics as one of the subjects with 60 per cent marks in group and first class. NATA rankers alone are eligible for admission and they should submit their application on or before July 7. Interested candidates may visit www.gitam.edu for details.
