Gesture: M. Rangaswamy, MLA, distributing notebooks to students as part of actor Vijay's birthday celebration in Thanjavur. — THANJAVUR: Fans of film actor Vijay celebrated the actor's birthday by reaching out to people through various social service programmes here on Wednesday. Breakfast for students Starting with a special puja at Kodimmankoil at Sunganthidal, the fans organised breakfast for students of the Government School for Deaf. Breakfast was also given to students of Sangeetham School for Mentally Retarded at Balaji Nagar. M. Rangaswamy, MLA, inaugurated a blood donation camp at the Red Cross blood bank. Saplings were distributed to people and uniforms, notebooks, pens were given to 400 students. Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Rangaswamy appreciated the fans association for conducting the programmes. Sirajudeen and Jayakumar of the Thanjavur branch of Indian Red Cross Society, Dharuma Saravanan, president of Kamal fans association, representatives of Ajith and Surya fans association participated in the birthday celebrations.
