GUNTUR: National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists, led by their district convener Shaik Jilani, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy District Education Officer Prakasa Rao demanding the implementation of Right to Education Act (REA) and stringent action on institutions violating it. Mr. Jilani said REA was envisaged to provide compulsory education to children aged between 6 and 14 and the Education Department obviously has a very important role in its implementation. The department should depute inspection teams to take action on those schools which are violating the REA, the NSUI delegation demanded.
