Gulbarga: The Second Additional District Special Court here on Wednesday rejected the anticipatory bail application of Hyderabad Karnataka Area Development Board (HKADB) chairman Amarnath Patil, who is facing charges of assaulting a Dalit government employee. Judge Basavaraj Belavagi rejected the bail application, saying there was no provision for granting anticipatory bail under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He also upheld the argument of the police that Mr. Patil could destroy evidence.
