Maoist surrenders

KAKINADA: G. Bangarraju, 30, a member of the CPI(Maoist) surrendered before the district Superintendent of Police C.M. Trivikrama Varma on Wednesday.

A native of Revulakota village of Koyyuru mandal in Visakhapatnam district, Bangarraju confessed to the police that he had been associated with the Maoists since 2001 and was involved in activities such as pasting of wall-posters and ensuring that the bandh calls given by the Maoists were implemented in Koyyuru and surrounding areas. Bangarraju said that he was fed up with the Maoist ideologies and wanted to lead a peaceful life.
