Ill treatment by police official alleged

STIR:Residents of Narashinganallur who came to the Tirunelveli Collectorate to submit a petition

Tirunelveli: The residents of Narashinganallur, which is attached to Tirunelveli taluk, alleged that Sub Inspector of Police of Suththamalli station had ill treated them. The agitated residents demanded legal action the police personnel, immediately.

They sought the intervention of the district administration in this connection. According to a petition, more than two hundred families of Dalits are residing at Narashinganallur.

With no concrete reason, a team of police led by the Sub Inspector allegedly assaulted four youths on Monday night at about 11 p.m.

Under the pretext of taking them to police station, they attacked the youths severely at an isolated place, the residents alleged.

S. Muthu, A. Manikandan, P. Esakkimuthu and P. Vijayakumar of Narashinganallur sustained injuries.
