Sunil Mittal gets INSEAD award

NEW DELHI: Leading international business school INSEAD has honoured Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder, Chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, with its Business Leader for the World Award. The award is given to business leaders who have set new standards in building successful, sustainable, global enterprises that span multiple cultures, embrace diversity, and contribute to economic and social prosperity. “Today's global economy is in need of leaders who have an increased understanding of how to operate across cultures, drive innovative thinking and contribute to both business and societal growth,” said Dipak C. Jain, Dean of INSEAD.

“INSEAD is honouring Mr. Mittal for his success in having grown Bharti Enterprises from a manufacturer of push button phones to India's leading business conglomerate and in particular for his vision of developing businesses that have a transformational impact on the regions in which Bharti is present,” the business school said in a statement.

“Bharti's growth story is a product of India's successful economic reforms that have given companies like ours a platform to innovate and build transformational businesses on a global scale,” said Mr. Mittal.
