MADURAI: Collector U. Sagayam has invited professors, teachers and post-graduates to guide differently-abled students for Civil Services examinations through special coaching classes. In a statement, the Collector said that the district administration had planned to conduct free coaching classes for the differently-abled. They would be trained to prepare for UPSC and group I examinations. Interested differently-abled persons could contact the Collector's office or the office of the District Rehabilitation Officer. Service-minded and qualified people like advocates, serving and retired Government employees could volunteer to coach the students in English, science, mathematics, social science, Constitution of India and general knowledge. Stating that the coaching classes have been organised on a voluntary basis, no remuneration would be given for the trainers. Contact persons Interested persons could contact the coaching class coordinator, Manoranjitham on 98427-92877 or District Rehabilitation Officer Kanagaraj on 98432-53353. Classes would begin very soon at the office of Madurai East Panchayat Union. The classes would be organised in such a way that the daily routine of the volunteers were not affected. Mr. Sagayam appealed to the qualified people to make the best of the opportunity to express their humaneness by supporting the cause of uplifting the differently-abled.
