KADAPA: Wipro manager Satyajit Rao exhorted officials on Wednesday to become computer savvy and optimally utilise technology to extend better services to the people. Addressing officials in a district-level workshop on “e-governance” at the Collectorate's mini-conference hall, Mr. Rao said government officials should extend speedy and qualitative services to people, as their needs were changing rapidly. Kadapa and Nalgonda districts were chosen under a pilot project and being trained. Every employee who was entrusted a task should have basic knowledge in order to discharge the duties effectively. e-governance would promote transparency, simple mode and speed and help extend all types of services at a place, Mr. Satyajit Rao said. Updating data on the website, contacting through e mail, online booking, receipt of applications were in progress, he said. Data of every department was incorporated in the State database and linkage was being provided under A.P.
