Anantapur Collector assumes charge

New post:Anantapur Collector V. Durga Das taking charge on Wednesday.

ANANTAPUR: The new collector of Anantapur district V. Durga Das took charge on Wednesday from Joint Collector Anitha Ramachandran who had filled in for the post as In-charge Collector for a brief period.

Mr. Durga Das was previously posted as the Secretary at the Excise Department.

He had earlier worked as the VC of Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTMUDA), and as the Joint Collector of West Godavari and Warangal districts.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that he would ensure the development of the district by implementing all schemes and programs of the State government.

He also sought the cooperation of all the respective officers of their departments in ensuring the progress of the district.

“I will try and ensure that the district fares very well in the field of education”, he said apparently concerned about the falling results of the children from the district in the State and Central government exams being conducted.
