Plea to Collector on Olympic Run

VISAKHAPATNAM: District associations of as many as 28 sports disciplines submitted a memorandum to the Collector and Chairman of the District Sports Authority to conduct the Olympic Run here on Thursday by the District Sports Authority under the supervision of its Chairman with the assistance of the District Amateur Athletic Association.

The sports associations which are members of the Visakhapatnam District Olympic Association informed the Collector that the Visakhapatnam Olympic Association with which the district officials were planning to conduct the Olympic Run has only five or six associations as its members and the District Amateur Athletic Association is affiliated to the Visakhapatnam District Olympic Association, which is affiliated to the AP Olympic Association after its office-bearers were duly elected.

The dispute between the two associations is pending in a court of law.
