SCR promises all clearances to HMR

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) authorities have requested the South Central Railway (SCR) to expedite the General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) of the remaining four railway crossings for the elevated mass transport system.

The SCR had earlier cleared four railway crossings following detailed discussions and field inspections conducted by senior officials from both sides.

On Wednesday, HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy met SCR General Manager G. N. Asthana to deliberate on issues of providing metro rail connectivity to the Secunderabad railway station and clearance of pending railway tracks crossings.

Appreciating the speedy permissions given to the previous tracks crossings, Mr. Reddy explained that the pending track crossings are on both sides of the Secunderabad railway station, Chilkalguda, and Alugadda Road Under Bridges (RUBs). Mr. Asthana assured that efforts will be made to clear the balance permissions as soon as possible.
