BANGALORE: The oscillation trials on Namma Metro Reach 1 between Byappanahalli and M.G. Road undertaken by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow, have been completed even as the testing team left here for Lucknow. The team arrived in Bangalore in the first week of June for the exercise, which included oscillation and emergency brake distance trials to test whether the track and coaches are fit. Waiting period However, it will take at least a month for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to know if all the requirements have been met and whether it will get a fresh speed certificate so that the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety could undertake the safety trials. According to sources, the team, after reaching Lucknow, will have to prepare a report which will go through different sections of the RDSO, before reaching the Commissioner for Railways Safety (CRS), who is also the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety. They said preparation of the clearance itself could at least take up to four weeks after which it has to be sent to RDSO directorates concerned, including Building and Structures and Track Design. Inspection dates After the RDSO issues a fresh speed certificate, the commissioner would intimate the dates of his inspection to BMRCL. With all these, the wait for Namma Metro's commercial run between Byappanahalli and M.G. Road appears unlikely before August. The commercial operation is also depending upon the discretion of the Ministry of Railways.
