Police station picketed

Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE: Seeking extension of bus service to their place, people of Anna Nagar thronged the Thondamuthur police station on Wednesday.

A government bus was plying from Gandhipuram to Kombanur. When the Minister for Special Programme Implementation S.P. Velumani visited Annanagar, people sought extension of the bus service from Kombanur.

Based on their request the service was extended to Annanagar from Tuesday. But people of Kombanur protested against the move on Tuesday night and Thondamuthur police Inspector Kanagasundaram pacified them. The extension service was cancelled yesterday night.

Hence people of Annanagar thronged the Thondamuthur police station and sought immediate action.

They even resorted to road blockade on Narasipuram Road and disrupted traffic.
