Forced abortion leads to woman's death

VIJAYAWADA: A 22-year old woman died allegedly due to failure of operation carried out for abortion, here on Tuesday. According to police, D. Rambabu, 31, a resident of Bramaramabhampuram, an auto driver by profession, was married to Manjula six years ago. The couple begot a baby boy three years ago. He picked up argument with his wife over second pregnancy and allegedly forced her to undergo abortion as they got to know it was a girl through scanning. He took her to an RMP in Ajitsingh Nagar to abort the foetus. Manjula died of immense bleeding. Her mother Narasa Mangamma lodged a complaint with the Krishnalanka police.
