Probe on into flashing of laser beam at pilots

CHENNAI: The Airport police on Wednesday began investigation into the flashing of laser beam at pilots manning Jet Airways.

According to police sources, the police called Ravindra Prasad, the First Officer of the Jet Airways flight, and recorded his version of the complaint.

Blinded vision

The police also asked him on how the laser beam was flashed. Actually, the laser beams blinded the vision of the Commander, who was seated on the left side of the aircraft, the police was informed.

The Commander who faced the problem is expected to share the information with the police on July 1, the sources said.

A senior police officer said after getting the version from the Commander, they will decide on the Section under which a case could be registered and probe the matter further.
