‘27 GIM projects implemented'
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Twenty-seven of the 387 projects for which MoUs were signed during the Global Investors Meet last June have been implemented, Large-and Medium-scale Industries Minister Murugesh R. Nirani has said.
“The total investment for these projects is Rs. 17,000 crore and projects worth a similar amount are in advanced stages of completion,” the Minister told presspersons here on Tuesday.
Mr. Nirani said: “Nearly 224 projects are in the process of being implemented and as they are mega projects, it will take about three years to complete them since they require statutory clearances.”
During the GIM, MoUs for 387 projects worth more than Rs. 5 lakh crore were signed.
The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) will organise an MSME Summit at Kudalasangama in November to serve as a meeting ground for industrialists, the Government, institutions, and entrepreneurs. Besides, an Agri Food Expo will be held in Bijapur in December. KASSIA president S.S. Biradar said that both summits would stimulate industrial growth in north Karnataka.
