Drive against shrill air horns

COIMBATORE: In a drive against use of shrill air horns in the city on Tuesday, police personnel removed 50 air horns in both private and government buses, which where using them above the permitted decibel levels.
Officials said that the permitted decibel level was only 105 decibels.
But the buses and other heavy vehicles were found to be using higher decibel and musical horns.

Officials said the drive would continue in all parts of the city.
The drive at Sivananda Colony was led by C. Anbalagan, Assistant Commissioner (Traffic-East).
