Emaar project row: APIIC Chairman to file affidavit

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Chairman S. Siva Rama Subrahmanyam will soon file an affidavit in the High Court with regard to deviations and violations allegedly committed by the Emaar Group in developing the joint venture integrated township project at Nanakramguda here.

“I have decided to file an affidavit as a Congress worker in the court with all the information and opinions I collected about the deviations in the 258 acre joint venture project,” the Chairman told media persons here on Thursday.

PIL

A public interest litigation on the issue had been filed by a Minister (P. Shankar Rao) “based on my letter to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and it was pending in the court,” he said adding his affidavit would be in support of the PIL.

Asked about the APIIC-Emaar row, Mr. Subrahmanyam said after issuing notices to the Emaar Group for cancellation of the joint venture project for depriving the APIIC of its 26 per cent stake in the project through deviations and violation of the MoU, the Emaar had sent a response agreeing to give 26 per cent stake to the APIIC.

However, as the matter was already in the court with Emaar challenging the APIIC contention about deviations, the APIIC had sought the opinion of Advocate General. “The APIIC board is awaiting his response,” Mr. Subrahmanyam said.
