BJP demands ban on KFD
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: Following the arrest of six members of the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) in connection with the kidnap and murder of two BBM students from Hunsur, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday demanded that the KDF should be banned immediately in the interest of country's security.
Addressing a press conference here, MLAs Vijay Kumar and Nandish Reddy and party State media in-charge S. Prakash said BJP Yuva Morcha workers would stage a protest in all the taluk and district centres of the State on Friday to bring pressure on the Union Government to ban the outfit.
‘In a new name'
Mr. Vijay Kumar termed forum as an organisation with terrorist links. “This group has come up after the government banned outfits such as SIMI. In other words, the banned outfits are trying to operate in a new name,” he alleged.
Referring to the statement by the police that the arrested members of the KFD wanted to use the ransom demanded from the parents of the murdered students to help spread their network in the State, he said the outfit would pose a serious threat to the country's security if it was not banned immediately.
