Cyber cafe owners arrested

Tirupur: The Tirupur North police arrested two youth who were running a cyber cafe on the charges of allowing people to watch obscene videos at their centre.

Raid

Police sources said the youth were taken into the custody from Heart Browsing Centre at Miller Bus Stop on P.N. Road during a raid conducted on Wednesday night. Police said that checks would continue to prevent illegal activities inside cyber cafes.

Toddy seized

The police seized about 40 litres of toddy during raids conducted in the city outskirts on Wednesday night and in the early hours of Thursday.

As many as six persons were arrested from K.N. Palayam, Koduvai and Avinashi areas on the charge of tapping and possessing toddy, police sources said.

Gamblers held

The police arrested five persons for allegedly gambling at a public ground under Section 12 of Tamil Nadu Gambling Act.

The accused were picked up from Cheyur near Avinashi. Further investigation is on.
