CUDDALORE: The process for issuing unique identification cards will begin at Panruti, Kurinjipadi and Chidambaram blocks on Monday, according to Collector V.Amuthavalli. In a statement, she said that to start with two villages in each of the three blocks have been identified: Poongunam and Ezhumedu in Panruti block; North Sirupalaiyur and Bhoothambadi in Kurinjipadi block and Poonthottam and Thavarthampattu in Chidambaram block. The place and timing of the camps would be announced by the tahsildars. Besides taking photographs of all citizens, the imprints of all 10 fingers and impression of the iris would be taken at the camps. The citizens should bring the acknowledgement slips issued by the enumerators, and whatever identity cards at their disposal, such as the Electors' Photo Identity Cards, driving licence, Permanent Account Number cards, ration cards, passports, all in original, to the camps.
