dated June 25, 1961: Indo-Greek cultural pact

A cultural agreement between India and Greece was signed in Athens on June 22. A joint communiqué, issued in this respect, said: “The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Greece, Evangelos Averoff, and the Minister for Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs of India, Prof. Humayun Kabir, signed a cultural agreement providing for cultural co-operation in all fields between the two countries.” It provides for the exchange of scientists, scholars and cultural delegations, organisation of scientific and artistic exhibitions and dissemination of knowledge of each other's culture through radio, the Press and other mass media so as to make the two peoples understand each other better. The agreement, subject to ratification by both Governments, will be valid for five years.
