Girls secure top ranks

MGU B.Sc. results announced

KOTTAYAM: The Mahatma Gandhi University has declared the results of the model one B.Sc. regular examinations that were held in March 2011 and as many as 21 of the 24 top ranks were bagged by girls.

The detailed results will be available on the website www.mgu.ac.in.

The rank-holders of various streams are as follows:

In the Mathematics stream, Minu Mary Joe (992/1000), Newman College, Thodupuzha, secured firstrank; Soumya S (982/1000), Aquinas College, Edakochi, came second; and Dhanya Thomas (979/1000), Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, came third.

In the Family and Community Sciences stream, first and second ranks were bagged by Bibi Asiya (901/1000) and Fiza Nawas (877/1000) respectively, both belonging to St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam; the third rank went to Rasni N. of B.C.M College, Kottayam.

M. A College, Kothamangalam secured all three ranks in the Statistics stream with Teena Balakrishnan (945/1000), Ajimol Soman (935/1000) and Arija Rajeev (904/1000) securing the first, second and third ranks respectively.

In the Geology stream, first rank went to Sujith K.S (758/1000); second to George K Devasia (740/1000); and third rank to George T. Cyriac (738/1000), all three from Government College, Nattakom.

In the Zoolgy stream, the first rank was bagged by Poornima Baby (980/1000) of Alphonsa College, Pala; second and third ranks were bagged by Jaya S (945/1000) and Damaris Benny Daniel (944/1000) respectively, both belonging to St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam.

Shameena M. K (948/1000), U C College, Aluva; Elizabeth George (947/1000), CMS College, Kottayam; and Anu Joy (935/1000), Maharajas College, Ernakulam, secured the first three ranks in the Botany stream.

In the Physics stream, Jubymol J. (989/1000), St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam, secured first rank; Dhanya G. Nair (988/1000), Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla, came second; and Sreeja Sasidharan (973/1000), Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, came third.

Chinju Jacob (988/1000) of Assumption College, Changanassery secured the first rank in the Chemistry stream; while Rani Mathew (984/1000) of Alphonsa College, Pala, came second; and Beena Devassia (965/1000) of Devamatha College, Kuravilangad, came third.
