ARIYALUR: Collector Anu George on Friday inaugurated a blood donation camp organised to mark World Blood Donor Day by donating blood herself.
The camp was conducted jointly by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society, Chennai, and District Aids Prevention and Control unit, to commemorate the World Blood Donor Day observed on June 14, and create awareness with the theme ‘more blood more life' of youth and the public.
The camp at the Ariyalur Collectorate campus was conducted from an air-conditioned mobile blood bank, as part of the campaign that commenced in Chennai on June 14 and will culminate on July 2.
The Collector said the camp was conducted to create awareness among the public, honour blood donors and encourage new blood donors.
