Nalgonda
Pitiable condition:The women who underwent laparoscopic operation in Nalgonda District Government Hospital on Friday were forced to sleep on the floor. NALGONDA: About 70 women who underwent laparoscopy operation at the government hospital here on Friday were seen spending agonising moments as they were forced to sleep on the floor, close to one another, allegedly due to inadequate facilities such as beds. Infectious They were made to lie down in the corridor which was dusty and unhygienic. Besides, some relatives of the women were seen moving freely in the corridor wearing slippers, which were dirty with mud stuck to them. This could have easily exposed the women to infections. Early discharge A government doctor explained that such patients, who undergo ‘double puncture laparoscopy' at camps, were not admitted into the hospital. Hence, they were not allotted beds. He said they were usually discharged in the evening after the surgery.
