‘No clarity on members of proposed panel' Relay fast in Masula reaches 182nd day VIJAYAWADA: Amid fears of further delay in Bandar Port project, leaders of the Bandar Port Sadhana Samithi have threatened to re-launch their agitation if the government does not solve the issue of land acquisition in a month's time and enable the developers to launch works on the Rs. 1,590-crore project at the earliest. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy promised to resolve the issue during his recent visit here recently. But lack of clarity regarding the members on the proposed high-level committee to look into the land issue afresh created doubts once again over an early start to port works. When Machilipatnam MLA Perni Nani enquired about who were there on the committee, Principal Secretary of Infrastructure and Investments Ajay Misra, during his recent visit to Bandar, was said to have commented that he was there on the committee and that he had no knowledge of other members. Secretary of the sadhana samithi D. Sriramachandra Murthy and member Kollu Ravindra said that they received information about nine senior IAS officers being appointed on the committee to enquire whether it was necessary to allot 6,262 acres and also which infrastructure facilities the Navayuga-led consortium would develop. As of now, the relay fast by the sadhana samithi is still continuing at Koneru Centre in Machilipatnam and it has reached 182nd day.
