VIJAYAWADA: The activists of the Students Federation of India city committee organised a dharna in front of the Sub Collector's Office here on Friday in protest against the delay being caused in handing over the books for students of schools. Addressing the meeting held on the occasion, SFI city leader Praveen said that it was unfortunate that the administration could not release the pending books even 15 days after the reopening of the schools in the district. With regard to the English medium books, not even one book was handed over to the students, which was highly objectionable, he added. Mr. Praveen demanded that the Government take stringent action against private school managements running their operations without recognition and also those schools which were collecting exorbitant tuition fee from students. If the administration did not take action in this regard, the agitation would be intensified immediately, Mr. Praveen added.
