Re-circulating water system commissioned

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Rs. 87 crores re-circulating water system for power plant expansion in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was inaugurated by Chief Vigilance Officer K. Vidyasagar on Friday.

The system was meant for meeting the requirement of turbo generator-5 and turbo blower-4 of the expansion units, according to a VSP press release. Turbo generator-5 requires 16,000 cum/hr while four vertical pumps of 6000 cum/hr have been provided to supply cooling water to the turbo blower-4. There are also common stand pumps to the turbo generator and turbo blower and can be interchanged in case of need.

Director (Operations) Umesh Chandra, Director (Projects) A.P. Choudhary, and Director (Finance) P. Madhusudhan also complimented the RINL collective, officials of Dastur and Co and the executing agencies for achieving the milestone.
