Bar girls rescued from forced prostitution

Bangalore: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a bar manager here in the early hours of Thursday for allegedly forcing the bar girls into prostitution.
They rescued three girls from the clutches of Vinay Kumar Poojari (34), a native of Kotiyan in Padubidri in Udupi. The CCB said he had brought the girls from Rajasthan and Punjab after promising them jobs in Bangalore.
Officials attached to the Woman Narcotics Squad, attached to the CCB, raided an apartment at the 6th Cross of Thambu Chetty Palya near K.R. Puram and unearthed the racket.
Main accused
Police said the main accused, who escaped the operation, owns a bar on Brigade Road and had been running the racket in the lodge.
