Rally marks end of Education Fortnight

Officials, teachers asked to enrol all children between 6 and 14 years in government schools

1,500 school students, their teachers and Mandal Resource Persons participate


KADAPA: Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries A. Sai Prathap flagged off a huge rally of teachers, students and mandal resource persons on the concluding day of Education Fortnight at Kadapa State guesthouse on Saturday.

Bright future

Mr. Sai Prathap exhorted officials and teachers to enrol all the children in the six to 14 years group in government schools. Education would provide them a bright future and help them prove their mettle in various fields, he stated.

About 1,500 students of several government and private schools, their teachers and MRPs participated in the rally which went up to the Seven Roads junction, carrying placards, as autos fitted with loudspeakers went ahead of them airing the message that children between six an 14 years should not be employed by anyone, but allowed to study in schools.

Message in songs

Umakanth culture troupe of Mydukur recited songs on the benefits of getting educated. Congress MLC B. Chengarayulu, Congress legislator G. Srikanth Reddy, Additional Joint Collector G. Joshi Babu, Kadapa District Educational Officer Subba Reddy, Rajiv Vidya Mission Project Officer K. Suryanarayana Reddy, Kadapa Mandal Educational officer Sujala Ranjani participated.
