VELLORE: Saranya (22), wife of Kumar alias Kumaran (26) of Pachaiappan Street in S.S.K. Maniam, Vellore, was murdered allegedly by her husband in their house on Saturday. According to the police, Kumar, an iron merchant, was married to Saranya five years ago. He suspected her fidelity following information that she developed intimacy with a man hailing from Tirunelveli. On coming to know that the man had taken Saranya to Tirunelveli, Kumar went to Tirunelveli and brought her back on Saturday. After a wordy duel, Kumar reportedly hit Saranya with a wooden handle of a hack-saw on the head, killing her on the spot. He surrendered in the Vellore South Police Station and was arrested.
